INTRODUCTION
The Portfolio Management Associate supports the Regional Director in coordinating and monitoring the Central and South Asia portfolio, with a focus on portfolio information, regional priorities, partnerships, and project delivery. The role consolidates and reviews program and project data, prepares portfolio updates and briefing materials, supports partner engagement and program development, and follows up on agreed actions.
The Associate also provides project management support for a regional project funded by the Korea Green New Deal Trust Fund, supporting the development of internationally transferred mitigation outcomes under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Working with the Project Manager, country teams, regional colleagues, and relevant corporate units, the Associate supports implementation tracking, coordination, and reporting.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Portfolio Management Associate supports the Regional Director in monitoring portfolio delivery and maintaining accurate and reliable program and project information. The role facilitates operational processes, supports quality assurance and reporting, and helps coordinate activities across country programs in line with Global Green Growth Institute policies and standards. The Associate also contributes to partnership development, regional initiatives, and implementation of the regional carbon market project.
PURPOSE
Portfolio and Strategy Support
- Assist the Regional Director and Country Representatives by compiling information on portfolio priorities, implementation progress, and emerging needs.
- Support regional strategic priorities by consolidating country-team inputs, preparing background information, and tracking agreed actions.
- Prepare portfolio summaries and briefing materials for planning, management discussions, and decision-making.
Data and Performance Management
- Support country teams in maintaining accurate program and project information in the Global Green Growth Institute’s project management, customer relationship management, and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Consolidate and review portfolio data, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and follow up with relevant teams.
- Prepare monthly portfolio updates and quarterly key performance indicator summaries, highlighting progress and issues requiring attention.
Partnership and Program Development
- Support partnership and funding opportunities by compiling information on prospective partners, donor priorities, and country needs.
- Prepare partner profiles, meeting briefs, presentations, and materials for engagement with governments, embassies, donors, and other partners.
- Support the Regional Director in preparing presentation slides, speeches, and briefing materials for internal meetings and external events, including conferences, donor meetings, and high-level government engagements.
- Support resource and investment mobilization for the Central and South Asia portfolio by tracking funding and co-financing opportunities, preparing pipeline and investor materials, and coordinating inputs for funding proposals.
- Support new country, multi-country, and regional initiatives by contributing to the drafting of and coordinating inputs for concept notes and proposals.
Regional Carbon Market Project Support
- Assist the Project Manager in coordinating implementation of the Korea Green New Deal Trust Fund-funded regional project.
- Maintain consolidated workplans, milestones, deliverables, and implementation updates and follow up on agreed actions.
- Support project and donor reporting by collecting, reviewing, and consolidating country and regional inputs.
ENGAGEMENT
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with the Regional Director, Country Representatives, project teams, and relevant corporate units to support portfolio coordination and implementation.
- Coordinate with partnerships, technical, finance, and corporate services colleagues on matters affecting program delivery and development.
Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Support engagement with government counterparts, embassies, donors, and other partners through meeting preparation, information sharing, and follow-up.
- Maintain partner information and engagement records and coordinate country and regional inputs for partnership discussions.
- Support partner meetings, country visits, and regional events.
Regional Carbon Market Project Coordination
- Liaise with participating country teams and technical colleagues to collect implementation updates and coordinate inputs for the Project Manager.
- Support communication with project partners and stakeholders and facilitate timely information exchange between regional and country teams.
- Flag outstanding actions or delivery issues for review and follow-up.
DELIVERY
Portfolio Reporting and Coordination
- Prepare consolidated portfolio updates, progress summaries, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Maintain portfolio trackers and follow up on reporting deadlines, data updates, and management actions.
- Identify information gaps and implementation issues and refer them to relevant colleagues for follow-up.
Partnership and Strategy Support
- Conduct background research and prepare materials supporting regional partnerships and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate inputs for concept notes, proposals, partner presentations, and regional planning documents, ensuring completeness and consistency.
- Record key outcomes and track follow-up actions from partnership and strategy discussions.
Regional Carbon Market Project Delivery
- Support consolidated workplans, reporting schedules, deliverable trackers, and project documentation.
- Compile implementation and financial updates from country teams and relevant corporate units.
- Assist in preparing donor reports, meeting materials, and records of project decisions.
- Support regional knowledge products, investor materials, and events involving Korean partners by coordinating inputs and tracking completion.
- Flag delays, missing inputs, and proposed changes to the Project Manager and support agreed follow-up.
Knowledge Sharing and Communication
- Support knowledge sharing across Central and South Asia by compiling country experiences and coordinating contributions from relevant teams.
- Prepare portfolio, partnership, and project content for dissemination through approved communication channels.
- Document and share lessons from regional initiatives, including the regional carbon market project.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in portfolio support, program coordination, or project administration, preferably in international development.
- Experience consolidating and reviewing program or project data and supporting progress reporting.
- Experience supporting operational processes for donor-funded projects or programs; experience in climate change, environmental policy, or sustainable development is an advantage.
- Experience supporting multi-country or regional programs is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in Korean is preferred.
FUNCTIONAL
- Strong data management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to consolidate inputs from multiple teams.
- Good understanding of program and project coordination, including workplanning, reporting, deliverable tracking, and documentation.
- Ability to research and summarize partner priorities, funding opportunities, and country-program needs.
- Ability to prepare clear portfolio updates, briefing materials, presentations, and partner communications.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, or project management systems is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across countries and cultures.
